Newcastle United this week claimed the Coca-Cola Championship title. Just a year after the heartbreak of relegation from the Barclays Premiership, the Magpies claim their first silverware since the UEFA cup success of 1969. A 2-0 victory away at Plymouth Argile was enough for Newcastle and they were presented with the trophy, Saturday infront of a sell out crowd at home to Ipswich Town. Newcastle United now finish their campaign away to QPR on Sunday, May 1st. Reports claim that Newcastle have already sold out their ticket allocation of 3,000 for this game.
St James' Park, the home of Newcastle United Football Club. It is currently the seventh largest soccer stadium in the United Kingdom with a capacity of 52,387. St James' Park has also, in the past been used as an International venue for England soccer games. It has recently been announced that St James' Park will also be used a soccer facility during the 2012 Olympics to be held in the United Kingdom.
